Although car insurance policies generally cover periods of at least 12 months, there are times when you only need cover on a temporary basis. Daycover Can Insure Any Driver Provided:

  • You've held a current full UK driving licence for a minimum of 6 months, European Union licence for a minimum of 12 months or hold a Provisional driving licence
  • You are aged 18 - 75 years
  • You have no more than 7 penalty points on your licence in the last 2 years
  • You have not been disqualified from driving in the last 2 years
  • You have not had more than 2 fault claims in the last 3 years

Daycover Can Insure Any Vehicle If It Fits The Following Criteria:

  • It has not been modified
  • It has a maximum of 8 seats in total
  • The vehicle is registered in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man
  • It will not be used to carry passengers or goods for hire or reward
  • The minimum market value of the car to be temporarily insured is £1,000

Short Term Van Insurance Policy Overview

For Comprehensive policies (subject to policy terms) we indemnify the policyholder in respect of his/her insurable interest in the van subject to the excess level shown on your Policy Schedule. In the event of repairable damage we will normally use the Insurer's approved repairer procedure and supplier. In the event of total loss, any settlement will normally be negotiated with, and made to, the policyholder. It will then be the policyholder's responsibility to clear any liability to the owner of the van. The policy does not cover any liability to any party in respect of loss of use or availability of the vehicle. All Comprehensive policies carry Accidental Damage, Fire & Theft identified on the policy schedule and have a limit of indemnity in respect of loss of or damage to the van as specified on your Policy Documents. All our customers have additional cover in respect of uninsured loss recovery.
