What are the terms and conditions of the price guarantee?
Price match only available when competitor quotation is emailed to pricematch@tc247.co.uk, excludes policies for periods of less than 2 days and for proposers aged under 25. Cover provided must be equivalent to that available through daycover.com This reduction in price is only available once the full price policy has been purchased, i.e. following purchase of your policy and subsequent daycover.com receipt of competition quotation we will refund up to £5.50.

Can I get immediate insurance cover?
Yes. Your insurance can start from the moment you complete the online purchase of your temporary insurance policy. The start and duration of cover will be shown on your insurance documents. You can define the start and end date and time.
How can I pay?
You can only pay for your insurance by credit or debit card via our secure payment system. A 2% charge is applicable to all credit card transactions. Debit cards are free of charge. We accept the following cards:



How do I get my paperwork?
You can print out your documents immediately. Documents will be emailed within 1 hour of your online purchase, providing evidence of cover. If you have chosen the postal delivery option we will also post your Certificate to you on the next working day.
How secure is this site?
Your financial transactions are processed via our secure server and protected by an encryption certificate verified by the Thawte Certificate Signing Authority.
Can I get a quote if I don't know the registration number?
Yes. You can select from our list of vehicles to get a quotation. If cover is to be arranged then you will need to know the registration number.
Can I get cover for more than 28 days?
No. Cover is only available for up to 28 days.
Can I arrange cover for a date in the future?
Yes, up to 30 days in advance. Simply specify the dates for which cover is required on the online application. Please be aware that, once committed, your details or cover CANNOT BE CHANGED. Also please see information on cancellations.
Can I arrange cover for a date in the past?
No. This is not possible.
Am I insured to drive abroad?
Yes, the minimum legal cover required in EU countries is provided. If the facility is available to upgrade the EU cover to comprehensive it will be shown on the "Additional Options" page during the quotation process. We are unable to provide any cover outside the EU.
Can I insure an imported vehicle?
You can insure an imported vehicle as long as the vehicle registration facility on stage 1 of the quote screen identifies your vehicle when you input the registration number.
Will I be covered to drive other vehicles?
No. The only vehicle you're permitted to drive is the one listed on your certificate of insurance.
Can I use a temporary Cover certificate to recover an impounded vehicle?
Definitely not. Our policies are not intended to replace the need for annual motor insurance. All certificates are marked to show that the certificate cannot be used as evidence of cover for the purpose of recovering impounded vehicles.
Is it possible to make amendments after insurance to recover an impounded vehicle?
No. This is not possible.
Can I cancel the policy?
You may cancel the policy at any time. You must notify us of this in writing and return the motor insurance certificate to us. Unfortunately we are unable to allow refunds due to the short term nature of the policy and associated administration costs.

How much will you pay if my vehicle is stolen or written off?
In this event we will negotiate a fair settlement based on established sources of information. The maximum settlement value specific to your policy can be found in your policy documentation.
I am only driving the vehicle for the day, do I really need insurance?
Yes. If you are caught by the police driving a vehicle without insurance you may incur a £200 on the spot fine and 6 points to your licence.
Can I ring the call centre for support?
Yes. You can call our call centre on 0844 557 3313 for assistance. To obtain the cheapest quotation please use our online service.
Can I take out multiple policies?
Yes. it is possible to take out multiple policies in most instances.
How can I comply with the new vehicle insurance law coming into force in 2011 and what will happen if my vehicle is uninsured?
It is illegal to drive a vehicle without insurance and from early 2011 it will also be illegal to keep a vehicle without appropriate insurance unless it is declared 'SORN' (off the road). The DVLA are able to compare records with those held in the Motor Insurance Database (MID) and failure to insure your vehicle could lead to fines and/or your vehicle being seized. This new law is being introduced to reduce the number of uninsured drivers on the road.
When you take out Daycover insurance we use our best endeavours to submit your policy and vehicle information as soon as our systems allow, and as a minimum, within the timescales required by the MID.

AA Temporary Membership Terms & Conditions
How many times can I break down?
You can use our breakdown service twice in one Temporary Membership period (The temporary membership period is the same as your Temporary Cover Limited Insurance cover) without incurring any call-out charges.
What number do I telephone if I break down?
The emergency breakdown number, as shown on your confirmation letter, is 0800 107 0942. If calling from a mobile you should dial 08457 316812.
How do I complain about AA products or services?

Are there any restrictions on vehicle size for AA Breakdown Cover?

Will I be covered if I breakdown outside the United Kingdom?
No, currently it is only possible to purchase breakdown cover within the United Kingdom for Temporary Cover Membership.
Buying breakdown cover
How much does AA Breakdown Cover cost?
There are 2 levels of cover to choose from for AA Temporary Membership breakdown cover. Prices are on per day basis and fall in line with the duration of your Temporary Cover insurance policy.
1. Roadside Assistance only – This entitles you to assistance by the roadside if you are more than a quarter of a mile from home. There is no charge for labour at the roadside, on average our roadside repairs are completed in less than half an hour, but if we can't fix your car in a reasonable time, we will tow you to a local garage or to a destination of your choice (whichever is nearer).
2. Roadside Assistance with Relay – In addition to Roadside Assistance, Relay is our national recovery service – if we are unable to repair your car at the roadside, or arrange a prompt local repair, we will take the car, the driver and up to 7 passengers to any UK destination of your choice.
How soon will I become an AA member if I apply online?
Your Roadside Assistance begins immediately after your online application has been successfully processed. You will be provided with the Terms and conditions of your AA Temporary Membership with the details of your cover.
This information will be e-mailed to you.
Your cover is effective immediately after you receive the confirmation.
Renewing your cover
How can I renew my AA Temporary Membership?
Your AA Temporary will cease when your associated Insurance policy with Temporary Cover Limited expires.
If you take out a new Temporary cover Limited Insurance policy, you will have the option of taking out AA Temporary membership also.
